All three options contain the same eight-module curriculum and approximately 120 hours of pharmacy technician education. A higher support level adds guidance or career services to that curriculum.
Study medications, drug classifications, federal pharmacy requirements, patient safety, quality assurance, and pharmacy workflow.
Work through pharmacy calculations, prescription interpretation, order processing, knowledge checks, and practice assessments.
Earn an academy certificate of completion after meeting all program requirements. PTCB separately reviews eligibility and awards national certification.

Post-completion review access ends when you pass the PTCE or when the 12-month review period expires, whichever comes first.
Academic support is provided while you are actively completing Guided or Career Ready Training. Active academic support ends at course completion.
Coursework questions submitted by active Guided and Career Ready students are answered by email within one business day.
Weekly progress check-ins help you review your progress, discuss challenges, and identify your next steps. Personalized assessment review highlights topics that need more study and helps clarify course concepts.
These services support your learning while you actively complete the course. They do not include private tutoring appointments. Students are responsible for checking email and participating in the support process.
Career Ready adds four individualized services to Guided Training: one personalized resume review plus one revision round, one LinkedIn profile review, one 15-minute virtual mock interview followed by written feedback, and one personalized pharmacy technician job-search plan. Written career-service feedback is provided within seven business days after each complete submission. These services do not guarantee interviews or employment.

Educator-created training
The academy was created by Laurel Barrett, whose background spans pharmacy, healthcare operations, education, and training. The curriculum brings that experience into focused lessons and practical pharmacy technician preparation.
Barrett Pharmacy Technician Certification Academy is a PTCB-Recognized Education/Training Program. Successful completion meets PTCB’s recognized education pathway requirement to apply for the PTCE. PTCB independently determines each candidate’s eligibility.

The curriculum includes pharmacy calculations instruction and practice. Guided and Career Ready add academic email support and assessment review while you actively complete the course.

Course-access instructions are sent to the email address provided during enrollment. Use an email account you check regularly.
Access continues until you successfully complete the required program components. Post-completion PTCE review access continues until you pass the PTCE or for 12 months after completion, whichever occurs first. Academic support ends at course completion.
No. You receive an academy certificate of completion. PTCB separately determines eligibility, administers the PTCE, and awards national certification after all requirements are met.
